The National Careers & Employment Expo (NCEE) was held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on May 21 & 22.
An enormous thanks to all our Exhibitors for their participation and contribution to delivering an exceptional event in 2010.
Over two beautiful sunny days of weather, Victorians came out in their thousands and continued to build the reputation of NCEE as Victoria's most popular careers and employment event.
Friday broke all records with greater than expected student attendance and Saturday's adult attendance numbers were fabulous and consistent all the way through to 4pm.
Seminars were extremely popular and a special thankyou for all those exhibitors who took part in the program. Feedback via the information desk and vox pop conducted reinforced their value.
The event provided opportunities to engage with leading employers and industries such as Defence Force Recruitment, Rail Industry, Film & Television Industry, Qantas, Target, ALDI, key government agencies including Department of Human Services in Victoria, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and leading Victorian University, TAFE and education providers.
The event was supported by Victorian Government and the Chisholm Institute one of the largest providers of vocational education in Victoria operating across 6 locations, Frankston, Dandenong, Berwick, Cranbourne, Mornington Peninsular and the Bass Coast.
The NCEE was also supported by National Career Development Week who hosted a Career Development booth, during Victoria's National Career Development Week.
A huge thankyou to Master Builders Association of Victoria who delivered a very popular major trade hands-on demonstration and presentation area at the event and our friends at Worldskills, who through the 'Try A Trade' section ensured that Victorian's had the opportunity to try their hand at a wealth of skills.
Another featured area was the Geelong, the best place to live and work section which gave Melburnians the opportunity to explore the options that the great City of Geelong has to offer.
A final thankyou must go to our media partner CareerOne and the Herald Sun for the publication of the event's liftout, and their major support ensuring Victoria was well informed.
