Overview of our recent 2011 event...

The National Careers & Employment Expo (NCEE) returned to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 25 – 26 March.

The largest national FREE EVENT in Melbourne invited visitors both young and old to come along and get careers advice, discuss study options with leading Universities, TAFE and private education providers, source information on industries of interest and speak directly with employers such as the; Victorian State Government & Government Agencies, Defence Force Recruitment, Victoria Police, Master Builders of Victoria, Qantas, Flight Centre, BAE Systems, Rail Careers and Villa Maria about employment opportunities within their organisations.

The 2011 Seminar Program was the best ever with 2 separate Seminar Theatres featuring presentations from a wide range of education providers, government agencies, employers and industry bodies.

National Career Development Week was once again at the NCEE, promoting career development and the need for everyone to develop skills to manage their careers, learning, work and lives.

2011 marked the beginning of a significant initiative within this event for the Tourism, Hospitality & Events Industry, with this year’s event co-located with the Tourism Alliance Victoria Student Summit. To ensure businesses have the opportunity to speak to this targeted audience and the visiting public, we provided dedicated Industry Hub at the event.

The Tourism Alliance Victoria Hub was proudly supported by Service Skills Victoria who officially launched their 'Melbourne Airport Developing Tourism Leaders Awards' for 2011. The awards were aimed at final year tertiary students studying tourism, hospitality and events in Victoria and provide exciting opportunities for the future leaders of the tourism industry.

The Geelong region was even better represented in 2011 with exhibits from the likes of City of Greater Geelong, TAC, Barwon Health, Karingal Training, MatchWorks and G-Force, who were promoting careers in the region and other opportunities the great city of Geelong has to offer.

Melbourne Metro and Regional Victoria year 11 & 12 students continued to be very well represented in their thousands and in attendance on Friday.
