The National Careers & Employment Expo (NCEE) in Brisbane was held in conjunction with the WorldSkills National Competition. This 25,000+ sqm combined event was the largest careers and employment event ever conducted in Australia and occupied the whole of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
 
The event was a major success with huge attendances unseen before and Worldskills have estimated the whole event attracted in excess of 80,000 people.
 
Setting the benchmark for delivering a careers and employment event, the expo continued the NCEE's reputation as Australia’s largest and most popular jobs and training event. Visitor mix was impressive with student numbers without precedent on the Friday and spectacular adult attendances on the Saturday and Sunday.
 
There were opportunities to engage with leading employers such as Defence Force Recruitment, Rail, Aerospace, Energy and Manufacturing industries, Qantas, ALDI, Target, St George, key government agencies across Queensland Government, Brisbane City Council, Queensland Health and leading educators including TAFE Queensland and Queensland’s premier universities plus..

The WorldSkills National Competition had more than 500 competitors from across the country vie for 50 titles and the opportunity to represent Australia at the 2011 international competition in London. Worldskills also presented their Try’a Trade program of 30 interactive skills and trades and the scale of presentation and competition was remarkable.
