Testimonials - 2006 National Careers & Employment Expo

The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) launched its 'Get A Life' careers awareness campaign at the EOC Brisbane and Townsville career expos. In the first four weeks of this campaign hits on the Get a Life website almost tripled compared with the figure for the whole of last year's campaign.

Through website statistics and data collection, we know that most of this traffic came from the EOC events - in particular, Brisbane.

'Get A Life' is aimed at Generation Y to promote careers in engineering, science and trades in the minerals and energy sector.

The QRC needs reliable distribution channels to capitalise on investments in researching and producing informative and relevant careers material - and EOC events, media have provided this.

"The National Careers & Employment Expo was an excellent avenue through which to promote our business to prospective employees. We were able to speak to many genuinely interested candidates over the three days. It was also an opportunity for us to gain an insight into people's perceptions of our organisation."

The Expo provided exhibitors with an opportunity to engage people - to promote the opportunities that employers offer as well as to determine what people want in their future careers.

It was a worthwhile activity and one that in would like to participate in again"

As a 'First Timer' as an Exhibitor at the 2006 National Career & Employment Expo - Perth, we at Chicken Treat were so overwhelmed and impressed not only by the professionalism of the EOC Team, but the huge opportunity it allowed us in promoting our brand and recruitment opportunities.
